Nov. 2005

+ Below is my experimental memormee.video.reel_5263 in Flash Video Format (Thanks to Sharkle!).

Sept. 2005

+ I was just hired to design a site for Kalich Organization - Bob & Dick Kalich, acclaimed writers.  The producer Barrie Osborne (The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix) has partnered with these Gotham-based writers Bob and Dick Kalich to mount "Beggars Inc.," an original high-concept comedy script penned by the siblings. Read the Variety article here...

On a side note, I had cool time working with these accomplished authors on the intellectual & literary level.  I told them I was a literature major in college, and so Dick Kalich gave a me a long reading list of his favorite novels.  Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse was number 1 on his list...interesting.

July 2005

+ I was hired to direct a music video by an upcoming Chinese-American pop star.  The shoot was low budget with small crew (which I prefer).  We shot in SOHO, Meat Packing District, and the infamous triangle in Times Square.  I rented this new Panasonic 24P DV camera and shot the music video myself.  I really like the look and handle of that camera, looking forward to using that format more for future films.  Stay tuned for final product, am in editing phase now.

I wanted to go to the Comic-Con in San Diego this month.  They showed some exclusive clips of movies I am waiting for:  Aronofsky's The Fountain, V for Vendetta, and Malick's The New World

June 2005

+ Zilch updates.

May 2005

+ Will be working intensively next week for an online short film company...need a break

+ Okay, just finished watching Sith, lined up for 2 hours at the Ziegfeld Theatre.  What I can say, I am speechless, amazing movie!  There are only a couple of revolutions in the art of cinema - 1. Edison/Lumiere brothers inventing moving pictures 2. Sound 3. Color and 4. Star Wars!

April 2005

+ Will be attending the Star Wars Celebration in Indianapolis to meet the man and father of digital cinema "George Lucas" and the artists and craftsmen behind the new movie. I will be covering it via online video, so stay tuned. Also, been working on this Grant/Proposal to National Geographic and other Public Broadcast channels, but it is taking me much longer than expected.

Feb 2005

+ Been busy with new web business & media projects, my design business is growing, am definitely grateful for that.  Well, I did manage to have a two paragraph treatment done on my bounty hunter story, outlined my themes, so next up is to work on some sort of workable script.  Can anyone recommend scriptwriting software for PC out there?  I also have some concept drawings and sketches, very basic for now, that I will post soon.

Jan 2005

+ Not film related, but do check out my online NBA collection of the most sizzling slam dunks and highlights!- [ goppo.com/nba ]

+ This year seems to be awesome movie geek year!  You have the most awaited of them all, an independent film that probably no one has heard about called Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith, then you have Batman Begins, WKW's 2046, Spielberg's War of the Worlds, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Constantine, A Scanner Darkly, Sin City, Kingdom of Heaven, Unleashed, Appleseed, Narnia, Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, Gaiman/Mckean's Mirrormask, Aeon Flux, Save the Green Planet, etc.

Nov 2004

+ I am currently working on an experimental imaginative web project titled "Project: Memormee" dealing with memory and dejavu  based on a short story I wrote 5 years ago (...hope it still holds up, it should...it explores memories & dreammemories and how they are somehow wired into real life, our way of editing them and turning them into personal myths, our loves-fears-anxieties, an internal moviemaking mind process that we always do... This will be a mixture of flash, digital video, and hypertext components.

+ Also collaborating with dv8xtc/synapse grafix & manosij to create some exciting action packed sci-fi films featuring the cyberpunk dangerdollz.  we are still in pre-production stages...stay tuned for that! - Paul

:: New Video - Oct. 17, 2004 (windows media)

Sep-Oct 2004

+ Well, I have been in the web dev & digital media business for 5 years now earning a living while establishing a base for financial and creative independence, hence the lack of new video works.  I realized art is still a worthwhile experience. I plan to make a couple of digital video shorts and perhaps a feature in the next year.  Also currently working on a script and some story treatments, one is a quirky little romantic story between an ******** vs. ******* and the other is a dark ************** from the future (this is some stuff that will fry your brains and bake your noodle)...that's all I can say for now... - Paul =]
